New XAT Pattern 2025

 New XAT 25 Format:

The XAT 2025 exam is divided into two parts:

Part 1: Main Exam

  • Sections: 3 sections
  • Total Questions: Approximately 75 questions
  • Duration: 170 minutes
  • Sectional Time Limits: No sectional time limits, allowing candidates to allocate their time across sections as they see fit.

Part 2: Additional Exam

  • Total Questions: Approximately 20 questions
  • Duration: 10 minutes

Total Exam Time: Overall Duration: 180 minutes

Part 1
Duration: 170 Minutes
Section 1.Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA & LR)
Number of Questions: About 26
The VA&LR section will encompass critical & analytical reasoning, reading comprehensions (including poems & passages), vocabulary, basic English grammar, and other related exercises such as para jumbles and cloze tests.
Section  2.Decision Making (DM)
Number of Questions: About  21
The DM section will present scenarios drawn from both personal and professional lives. Candidates will be required to apply critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and prioritization to make informed decisions.
Section  3.Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI)
Number of Questions: About  28
The questions in the QA section are primarily formulated around 10th standard Mathematics. Notably, the emphasis is on applicationoriented problems. The questions on DI are about clear interpretation, summarization and insightful analysis of the data.
Part 2
Duration: 10 Minutes
Section  4. General Knowledge (GK)*
Number of Questions: About 20
In the GK section, 08 questions will focus on static GK, while the remaining 12 will delve into current affairs.
Important Updates:
General Knowledge (GK) Score: The score from the General Knowledge (GK) section will be exclusively utilized by XLRI Jamshedpur for its final selection process.
Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This year, the Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) will be administered during the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD / PI) processes
